“Super hero is Herimone Granger – she stays cool in tough situations and is able to fix life with a single wave of her magic wand. “Live-e-osa!”
“Gypsy spirit, can travel across the world, prop her feet in the sand and call it an office.”
As one of the founding owners of Built for Dreams, Alisha has developed her career in interior design and construction for more than 20 years. She owned and operated a design studio for 12 years before founding Built for Dreams, and worked in architectural and engineering firms prior to that.
“My love for the built environment stems from growing up in a construction focused family. My passion, however, is interiors. We live inside spaces, work inside spaces, play inside spaces; even outdoor spaces have indoor components (restaurant patios, coffee and cantinas, hotel courtyards and café’s, health and wellness areas for hospitals to spas, resort and bungalow living to name a few).
Quality interior design maximizes our usefulness of spaces through space planning, interior architectural detailing and textural design, enhanced by décor elements. Together, all of this enhances comfort, supports wellness and well-being and appeases our send of personal style. Construction, when delivered as part of the creative process, through the use of talented craftspeople, makes the final architectural product highly satisfying to the client. It made perfect sense for me to meld design and construction into a design/build service to ensure our clients get exactly what we design to the level of quality our clients expect.
I approach interiors with these base beliefs to give each client an individualized and personalized project. I adopt the work ethic that this can be accomplished in some way for any budget.
And finally, interior designers are a venue for creativity and Built for Dreams bubbles over with it.”

What I love about interior design, and what kept me in the field, is the notion that every person is different and every project is different. There is nothing monotonous about what we do. Interior design can carry you into so many different areas of focus, and there are so many aspects to interior design, you are not limited to one field of concentration. It stays fresh.
With Built for Dreams, I get exposed to different types of projects and clients with our focus in commercial interiors, the Haworth dealership, and design/build division for commercial. It is exciting to be involved in a whole project and watch a project evolve from an idea, a thought, and a drawing to a finished space. The process always feels like a great surprise at the end, and it is fun to be able to deliver a whole project to our clients

I have always loved learning new things, even as a kid. During college, I couldn’t find anything that kept my interest or allowed me the exploration and discovery I wanted until I found design. After twenty-eight years, I find as much excitement and fulfillment as I did in college. I focus on the fluidity of built environments so functional spaces can also be comfortable, and familiar places become unique.
